Lorain county probate court marriage license
Seventeen dollars of each marriage license fee is deposited in a special fund to provide assistance to shelters for victims of domestic violence. One or both of the applicants must be a resident of Lorain County in order to obtain a license from the Lorain County Probate Court. However, applicants from out of state may apply in Lorain County if the marriage ceremony is performed in Lorain County.
Consent from Juvenile Court must be received for any of the following: Both persons to be married are the age of 17 Only one person is the age of 17, the other person can not be more than 4 years older. You must apply in the county where you reside or plan to marry. Both members of the couple must show proof of age, provide photo identification and pay a fee. Some counties require a cash payment to apply for a license. You must reach the minimum age of 16 to get married in Ohio. Minors are required to have parental or guardian consent and attend pre-marital counseling in order to get married.

If you are not a resident of Ohio, but are getting married in Ohio, you must obtain your license in the county where the ceremony will take place. If you are a resident of Ohio, you must apply for your marriage license in the county in which one or the other of you lives.
In some cases, you may need to bring cash. Getting a marriage license with your new name on it does not mean your name has automatically changed. If you need to change your last name, you can use an online marriage name change kit.
